Merryn Williams studied at Cambridge University where she wrote her doctoral thesis on Thomas Hardy. She is the editor of The Interpreter's House and the newsletter for the Wilfred Owen Association. Her first collection of poetry, The Sun's Yellow Eye, was awarded the Rosemary Arthur Prize for 1997. She has published a life of Wilfred Owen (Seren 1993) and translated the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca (Bloodaxe 1992). Her publications include Women in the English Novel 1800-1900 (Macmillan 1984), Margaret Oliphant: A Critical Biography (Macmillan 1986), Six Women Novelists (Macmillan 1987), and A Preface to Hardy (Longman 1993). |
